‘Shing Fat Metal Works’ is a family business founded in 1934, responsible for many large-scale private and government projects during post war era Hong Kong’s rapid economic expansion.

 

In 1964 its headquarters relocated from North Point to Shau Kei Wan, and its new headquarters building was renamed ‘Shing Cheong Lau’ (成昌樓). The ground floor and mezzanine floors consisted of the workshop, while the remaining floors were residential units, including the top floor occupied by the Founder Mr. Ho Kui and family.

 

In 2012 the family decided to redevelop the former headquarters into a residential (and commercial) landmark for lease, retaining its original Chinese name and calling it ‘East 17’ derived from its unique location. It is conveniently located in a quiet but easily accessible part of Shau Kei Wan Main Street East, with transport, shopping, parks & recreation, and hiking within reach.

 

East 17 has open and welcoming mountain and harbour views throughout the building, including a view to Lion Rock which embodies the hardworking, generous, and persevering spirit of Hong Kong people and the original Founder himself.

成發鉅記五金工程廠屬家族公司擁有，在戰前至二十一世紀負責多項大型私人及政府工程。1964年由北角遷往現址，名為「成昌樓」。樓下及一樓是工場，樓上是唐樓屬寬闊的住宅。負責人之前居頂層，所以清楚美景當前。

2012年開始策劃重建，把舊大廈的名稱「成昌樓」留下。成昌樓EAST 17坐落筲箕灣著名食街東大街，地點方便，旺中帶靜 ，交通四通八達，各式食肆商店應有盡有。

現建成的新廈全幢推出放租，由低至頂層都可享受背山面海的景色。向海的樓層可望見代表著香港人的獅子山，見證著前一代努力艱辛的成果，香港人拼勁的精神。
